Why are some individuals more vulnerable to PTSD and suicide?
In the RISC Lab, we seek to understand the mechanisms driving risk for ptsd, suicide, and other stress-related conditions and to use this knowledge to
improve treatment.
.MISSION:
To identify and mitigate vulnerability factors for PTSD, suicide, and other stress-related conditions with the ultimate goal of developing targeted, scalable interventions.
To accomplish this, we use a suite of neurobehavioral methodologies (e.g., EEG, eye-tracking, skin conductance, heart rate variability) and leverage technological advances (e.g., smartphone-based ecological momentary assessment, virtual reality) to conduct state-of-the-art clinical science.
Interested in applying to join the RISC lab? Dr. Albanese will be accepting a doctoral student to start at Texas A&M University in the Fall of 2023.
